The Joy Luck Club

Significance:
What the author was trying to say about this chapter "Rules Of The Game" is that sometimes parents don't understand how much pressure they can put on their children in this case Jong loved the game of chess after many dominated tournaments Jong's mother started to pressure her about winning the game.
Perspective:
The author of the Joy Luck Club is Amy Tan she is a very talented writer I would recommend this book to any body who likes a book that has many life long lessons and books with great meaning.
One of the issues Amy Tan has written about in her book are connections with children and there parents what sort of impression they have made on their children and the dents and memories they put in their child's head .
Evidence:
One of the parts in the chapter that made the chapter seem important is the part when Jong ran away from her mother giving her mother a taste of how she felt about her mother pressuring her about her winning the chess tournaments.
Connection:
One connection I had with the "Rules Of The Game" chapter is the part where Jong felt important and needed after she started dominating in the chess tournaments I feel a connection with this part because that is how I feel after i win my soccer games and did a lot of good plays.

Devilish by: Maureen Johnson

Significance
This book os important because it shows the importantce of true friendship. I chose this book because it was more of an fantasy book but it was set in modern day I also chose this book because the characters were about my age a little older. This book relates to readers because it is about chacters struggling with acceptance, popularity and friendship it is also about what true friendship really means.

Perspective:
The authors expiriances affected the plot because she could have gone through the same kind of struggles as some of her characters go through on the book. Some of the problems in this book is that kids are turning a serious issue into a game which puts peoples lives and soul an the line.

Evidence
The one part of the book that made me think it was important was the part when Allison discovers that Jane has swapped their lives up so instead of Allisons soul being taken Janes soul is being taken. Another part that made me feel that this book is important is the part where Allison lets Jane win the competition so instead of Jane dying Allison is going to die. Because all these actions have been occuring because each friend wants to let the other live.

Connection:
This work applies to my own life because it is about being a true friend which I am sure that I am to some and some are to me. This book will affect many of its readers because it shows how far people will to be popular even though all they really need is a couple of true friends also it will affect the way they will think about true friendshipbecause it shows haow far a true friend will really go.

Supposition:
Some predictions I can make if they had a sequel is Lanelee comes back in a different form and tries to take over Allison and Janes life. If Allison and Jane never met Lanelee ( a devil folower)then Owen would never had met Jane save Allisons life or better yet Allison and Jane would not even be in any danger anymore.

Chasing Yesterday-Awakening By: Robin Wesserman

Significance:
I chose this peice bacause the books discription made it seem interesting and the cover caught my eye. It talked about a girl who lost her memory and couldn't get it back! I just couldn't even imagine what it would be like. I also picked this book because it was a series and series are way more exciting to read than only one book. The authors theme for this book was about a thirteen year old girl who could not remember her past nomatter who helped or how hard she tried to get it back.
Perspective:
The authors expiriances affect the theme of this book because she can remember all of her life even who her middle school teachers were and it seemed to me this book might be about what she imagines it would be like to not remember her past.
What I percieve to be the problem in this book is that she can not remember who she is or wht she was like in the past she can not even remember her own name!
Evidence:
One part that made me think that this book is important is the part where J.D. and Daniel are being shot at this made me think how important having her memory and life back really is to her being shot at is really a big risk so it also shows that she is willing to risk anything for her life and memory.
Connection:
This peice inspired me to go and read the sequel because this book made me want to find out more about the charcters. Also one connection this book has is to a TV show I have seen it is about a boy who wakes up just like J.D. and cannot remember anything about his past and is also willing to risk everything for his true identity to be revield except his memory is more sevierly damged than J.D.
Supposition:
Of J.D. never discoverd that the doctor and her mom were really not who they said they were and J.D. and Daniel never discoverd who and what they really were doing and plotting then J.D. probably would never had talked to Daniel again or worse yet she would be living a fake life for eternaty.

Make Lemonade Virginia Euwer Wolff

Significance

This book/work is important because it shows people that anyone can make a difference in somebody's life no matter who you are.
Perspective
It looks like the author is relating herself to the book by the way she writes the experiences of the characters for example when Jilly the baby chokes on a toy and her mother Jolly has to do CPR on her and call 911 it seems as if she remembering not telling.
Evidence
I have no evidence
Connection
this relates to the real world because someone could be in this position where you lost your job and you cant pay for rent you have to go to school and also take care of your kids or they can be in a situation where your trying real hard to help someone but they just wont let you help them.
Supposition
If Lavaughn never was looking for a job and didn't find the sign babysitting needed bad the Jolly would have never gotten the help she needed she would have had more of a disaster on her hands than she already had her kids might not have learned to read and wright she would have gone back to school and sh wouldn't have found a friend

Angelas Ashes Frank McCourt

Significance
This book/work matters because it shows that you should love your parents no matter what, it shows you should be thankful for what you have because some one could have less advantages than you or be in a worse situation that you
Perspective
Frank McCourt created this book as a memoir the time period was between the thirties and the forties beginning during the depression and world war two
Evidence
I have no evidence
Connection
This event does not effect us today
Supposition
I would have predicted that frank would have become stupid because of the way he was raised not going to school all the time but he actually became a really smart person. If i changed the situation and made franks father regular with no more drinking problems then frank would have had a better life being able to eat more than just tea and bread and would have had more opportunities in life he would also get to spend more time with his father .

Rascal by Sterling North

Significance
Rascal is about a adventurous little boy who stumbles upon a family of racoons and when he catches one the bond between the boy and the baby racoon begin. This book shows that friendship is worth more than you can ever imagine!
Perspective
I think that in this book the author was relating himself to one of the characters because Sterling North uses the same name for the little boy as his. Sterling (the little boy) has only his father which is usually away on business and both sisters live far so Sterlings family is really only his animals .
Evidence
Sterling and Rascal (his pet racoon) have an incredible bond but is letting Rascal back into the wild the right thing to do??? Is Sterling being selfish ?? Or is his little friend meant to stay in captivity forever?? Sterling must decide and make the right decision both answers will change his life forever.
Connections
Rascal and Sterlings bond connects to the real world because at some point in your life you have a strong bond with some one it could be your best friend your dog or cat your teacher or your sibling but every one has some kind of friendship.
Supposition
If Sterling never found Rascal and his family their never would have been a bond and sterling would not have to make a decision affecting a big part of his life.
